According to ANA News Agency, Ranjbar made the remarks in response to what he described as a U.S.-Israeli attack, emphasizing that “the large family of Islamic Azad University, like the entire nation of Iran, is wounded and grieving, yet remains proud and resilient.”

He added that “targeting academic institutions and the killing of scientists, professors, and students—particularly the killing of Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi—represents yet another chapter in the long list of crimes committed by this ill-fated alliance.”

The university president also pointed to the firm stance adopted by Islamic Azad University in its statements and correspondence addressed to academic communities both domestically and internationally, stressing that “any form of leniency toward such a ruthless enemy will only embolden it further.”

He concluded by stating: “In confronting these malicious entities, we will adhere to any decision made by our country’s capable armed forces, and we will stand firm until the very end in defense of Iran.”
