Oman Outlines Scope of Iran–US Consultations in Muscat

TEHRAN (ANA)- Oman’s Foreign Ministry said consultations between Iranian and US delegations in Muscat centered on creating favorable conditions for resuming diplomatic and technical negotiations on Iran’s nuclear file.

In a statement published on its official X account, the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi held separate meetings on Monday with the Iranian delegation led by Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and the US delegation headed by presidential envoy Steve Witkoff, accompanied by Jared Kushner.

According to the statement, the discussions focused on paving the way for the restart of diplomatic and technical talks, underscoring their significance in light of the shared interest of all parties in ensuring the success of the process and contributing to long-term security and stability.

Al Busaidi reiterated Oman’s continued commitment to supporting dialogue and narrowing differences between the sides, stressing Muscat’s readiness to work with regional and international partners to help reach mutually agreed political solutions consistent with the objectives and expectations of the negotiations.

He also expressed appreciation for the efforts of regional countries that are backing and facilitating the ongoing talks.
