IRGC Warns Washington: Any Interference in Hormuz Will Be Met with Overwhelming Force
The Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has stated that the Strait of Hormuz has experienced permanent strategic transformations and will not return to its former condition—particularly for the United States and Israel—as Iranian forces complete their operational readiness for a new regional security framework in the Persian Gulf.
In an official statement released Sunday night via its account on X, the IRGC Navy Command declared that the period of foreign dominance over this crucial international passage has definitively ended.
The statement highlighted that recent developments in the region have created a new situation in which external powers, especially the US, are no longer able to impose their will or exert unchecked influence within Iran’s nearby maritime zone.
“The Strait of Hormuz will not revert to its previous condition, particularly for the US and the Zionist regime,” the IRGC Navy reiterated, emphasizing Iran’s determination to protect its sovereignty and maintain security in the Persian Gulf against any disruptive interference.
It was also disclosed that the IRGC Navy has entered the final phase of operational readiness for a comprehensive plan previously announced by senior Iranian officials. This initiative seeks to build a new, regionally driven security structure in the Persian Gulf, based on the idea that stability and safety should be ensured by neighboring countries themselves, without the controversial and illegitimate involvement of external forces.
These preparations reportedly involve increased naval presence, sophisticated surveillance systems, and coordinated rapid-response units, all intended to defend Iran’s territorial waters and maintain the steady flow of energy through the strait—a responsibility Iran claims to have upheld despite ongoing foreign provocations.
Iranian military officials have consistently warned that any effort by the US or its allies to undermine this emerging order or reassert military dominance will be met with a rapid, firm, and overwhelming reaction from Iran’s defense forces.
This statement from the IRGC Navy Command follows renewed threats by US President Donald Trump, who warned of severe action against Iran if it continues restricting access to the Strait of Hormuz, including potential strikes on infrastructure such as power plants and bridges.
The US president also indicated that Tuesday could mark coordinated attacks targeting Iran’s infrastructure, describing the operations as being carried out simultaneously.
Amid the ongoing conflict involving the US and Israel against Iran, the country has tightened limitations on ship transit through the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian officials have suggested that this vital global energy route—through which nearly one-fifth of the world’s oil supply once passed before the conflict—remains accessible to all vessels except those associated with the US, Israel, and their allies.
These restrictions have contributed to a notable increase in global energy and commodity prices, with analysts warning that the consequences could reach unprecedented levels if tensions persist.
