Araghchi Slams Zelensky for “Interference,” Labels Him a “Confused Clown”

TEHRAN (ANA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has sharply rebuked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky over what he described as meddling comments on Iran, saying the international community has grown weary of “confused clowns.”

In response to Zelensky’s critical remarks about Iran delivered during his speech at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, Araghchi took to social media platform X on Friday to voice his condemnation. He accused the Ukrainian president of exploiting American and European taxpayers, claiming the funds are being used to enrich corrupt military figures while pursuing what Zelensky portrays as resistance to aggression in violation of the UN Charter.

Araghchi further charged that Zelensky simultaneously and openly advocates for what he called illegal US military action against Iran, arguing that such calls contradict the very principles of the UN Charter Zelensky claims to defend.

“The world has had enough of confused clowns,” Araghchi wrote, adding that unlike Ukraine’s military— which he described as dependent on foreign backing and mercenaries — Iranians are capable of defending their country independently and have no need to seek outside assistance.

The remarks followed Zelensky’s statement on Thursday in which he warned that what he described as the international community’s failure to act against Iran was contributing to rising global security threats.
