Ghalibaf: national unity and military strength were key to Iran’s recent successes
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf emphasized that national solidarity and the strength of the country’s Armed Forces have been the main drivers behind Iran’s recent successes, describing unity as the cornerstone of victory in the face of external challenges.
Speaking during a virtual parliamentary session on Sunday, Ghalibaf said recent developments across the country—from military operations in missile and naval arenas to public participation in national events—reflect the impact of strategic leadership and collective national resolve.
He also welcomed a recent message from Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, describing it as a roadmap for lawmakers and a guiding framework for addressing future challenges facing the country.
According to Ghalibaf, the Leader’s emphasis on safeguarding national cohesion is particularly important at a time when adversaries are seeking to create divisions and weaken social unity through economic pressure and media campaigns.
The speaker argued that Iran’s achievements have been made possible through a combination of military preparedness and public support, noting that the resilience and solidarity of the Iranian people have been as important as the country’s defensive capabilities.
He further described the military arena, public participation, diplomacy, and public service as four interconnected fronts within a broader national effort, each playing a distinct role in advancing the country’s interests.
Ghalibaf said the role of diplomacy is to convert military achievements into political and legal gains, while government institutions are responsible for translating those gains into improved services and solutions for citizens.
Reaffirming Iran’s negotiating stance, he stated that Iranian diplomats judge agreements based on tangible outcomes rather than promises, stressing that Tehran will only honor commitments in exchange for concrete achievements. He added that any future agreement must guarantee the rights and interests of the Iranian nation before receiving approval.
