First Group of Iranian Hajj Pilgrims Arrives in Medina
A total of 260 Iranian pilgrims entered the holy city of Medina on Monday, marking the arrival of the first Iranian caravan for this year’s Hajj season. The group was welcomed in a ceremony attended by Saudi Hajj and Umrah officials, alongside representatives from Iran’s diplomatic and pilgrimage authorities.
The pilgrims, traveling from Golestan Province, departed from Imam Khomeini International Airport earlier in the day and were accommodated in a hotel in Medina before proceeding to the Prophet’s Mosque to perform evening prayers and visit the Prophet Muhammad’s shrine.
Iranian officials accompanying the group praised the reception arrangements and said preparations are in place to host additional caravans expected to arrive in the coming days.
Authorities also expressed hope for a smooth and well-organized pilgrimage experience for Iranian participants this year.
Around 30,000 Iranian pilgrims are expected to take part in the Hajj, which is scheduled to be held in late May, depending on the sighting of the moon.
