Iran Rejects Transfer of Enriched Uranium to US, Says FM Spokesperson
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has said that transferring Iran’s enriched uranium to the United States has never been considered at any stage.
In an interview with Iranian state TV, Baghaei addressed ongoing Iran–US negotiations and recent comments by US President Donald Trump, saying Tehran does not react to US statements and focuses only on its own objectives and national interests.
He stressed that any progress toward an agreement will only be recognized when Iran’s rights and red lines are fully safeguarded, adding that the final assessment lies with Iran’s relevant authorities.
Baghaei noted that the current ceasefire framework is limited to a two-week period and aims to create conditions for a complete end to the conflict, with no talks yet held on extending it. He also said Iran and Pakistani mediation efforts remain focused on ending the war and protecting Iran’s interests.
Referring to recent talks with a Pakistani military delegation in Tehran, he said both sides addressed remaining gaps and explored possible bilateral solutions, noting that the discussions were broader than earlier nuclear-focused rounds and included regional issues such as the Strait of Hormuz.
