President Pezeshkian Emphasizes Diplomacy as Iran’s Priority Amid Regional Tensions
Speaking in a telephone conversation with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Pezeshkian highlighted Iran’s longstanding preference for diplomatic solutions over conflict. He underlined the Islamic Republic’s dedication to fostering internal unity and expanding cooperative relations with neighboring and Islamic countries, emphasizing that Iran’s foreign policy prioritizes dialogue conducted in a calm and constructive atmosphere.
The Iranian president also criticized the United States and Israel for actions aimed at escalating tensions, provoking unrest, and imposing sanctions, stressing that Iran does not seek war and believes conflict would harm all parties in the region. “We hope the other side understands that Iran cannot be forced into negotiations through coercion,” Pezeshkian stated.
During the call, President el-Sisi expressed support for diplomatic efforts, underscoring that there is no military solution to regional challenges. He stressed that escalating tensions would negatively affect not only Iran but the wider Middle East, and affirmed Egypt’s readiness to continue efforts to reduce conflict and promote regional stability.
