During a meeting on Saturday, Gharibabadi reiterated Iran's longstanding belief in diplomacy guided by national interests as the key to resolving conflicts. While emphasizing Iran's commitment to peaceful resolution, he affirmed that the country remains fully prepared to defend its territory and people against any aggression.

Gharibabadi explained that Iran had recently delivered its proposal to Pakistan, which is serving as a mediator in negotiations with the United States. He stated that the responsibility now lies with the US to decide whether to pursue diplomacy or continue with its confrontational stance.

The Deputy Foreign Minister underscored Iran's readiness for either path, but highlighted the nation’s deep skepticism toward the United States, given its past betrayals during diplomatic efforts.

In a related development, ambassadors from China and Russia held a trilateral meeting with Gharibabadi to discuss the new proposal, which was handed over to Pakistan on Thursday evening.

The latest diplomatic initiative follows a ceasefire between Iran and the United States on April 7, with negotiations mediated by Pakistan in Islamabad on April 11. However, these talks ended without any significant progress.
