Twenty Countries Condemn Israel’s West Bank Expansion Plans
In a joint statement, the countries asserted that Israel’s settlement expansions represent a step toward an unacceptable de facto annexation of Palestinian territories. They warned that such measures undermine peace efforts in the region and could destabilize the wider Middle East.
The statement urged Israel to reverse its decisions immediately, honor its international commitments, and avoid actions that would permanently alter the legal and administrative status of the occupied Palestinian territories.
The signatories also reiterated their firm opposition to changes in the demographic composition and conditions on the ground in the West Bank and Al-Quds since 1967, highlighting the need to maintain international law and protections for Palestinian lands.
